Orlando Bloom has opened up about his recent split from the Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr, with whom he has a two-year-old son Flynn, for the first time, and says he will always support her.
The British actor, 36, told Katie Couric on her US talk show in a new episode that aired today: "We love each other. We're a family. We're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives.
"There's no question that, you know, for the sake of our son and everything else, we're going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn."
The star admits his marriage didn't work out the way he hoped.
"You know, life sometimes doesn't work out exactly as we plan or hope for, but fortunately, we're both adults, and we're professionals, and we love and care about each other. And we, most of all, love our son," he said. The former couple enjoyed a stroll with their son in Central Park in New York the day after announcing their split last Friday.
