Two men have been charged in relation to string of alleged thefts from ATMs in Perth’s south.
Police allege the pair smashed their way into two service stations, a shopping centre and a shop in the early hours of Saturday and attempted to steal ATMs.
Police charged one of the men after a chase on Armadale Road in Jandakot when what is believed to be a safe allegedly fell from the back of his Mitsubishi Pajero.
The pursuit ended when the man’s car was bogged on North Lake Road and the man allegedly attempted to flee on foot.
The 36-year-old man appeared in Fremantle Magistrate’s Court on Monday charged with three counts of attempted stealing, four counts of aggravated burglary and commit, stealing, reckless driving, possessing a prohibited drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.
A 29-year-old Mosman Park man was later arrested at a home in Yangebup and has been charged with nine counts of aggravated burglary and commit, aggravated burglary with intent, four counts of stealing, five counts of attempted stealing and three counts of stealing a vehicle.
He is due to appear in Fremantle Magistrate’s Court today.Both men remain in custody.
