A man with links to the Coffin Cheaters has been fined for lying about a brawl to the Corruption and Crime Commission.
Aaron Dinesh John, 30 was fined $15,000 in the Perth Magistrates Court after he today admitted to lying to the CCC in a private hearing in 2010.
Mr John lied about a violent fight between members of the Finks and the Coffin Cheaters at the Kwinana Motorplex.
At the hearing, Mr John said he did not see a fight or altercation. A photograph obtained by the CCC clearly shows him standing nearby.
The former nominee for the Coffin Cheaters outlaw motor cycle gang is the second person in a week to be fined for lying.
Magistrate Steven Malley said Mr John’s response was less than satisfactory and the courts need to be consistent.
He noted that last week a Coffin Cheaters bikie who lied to the CCC about the same incident was fined $15,000.
The court was told that Mr John is no longer associated with the Coffin Cheaters.Three other men are yet to appear in court to face similar false testimony charges.
