A work syndicate of eight have wasted no time in coming forward to collect their Division 1 Lotto win from Saturday’s Lotto draw.
From the $810,818 win each Hazlemere worker is set to take home $101,352.
The ticket was purchased at the Midland Gate Lottery Kiosk and the group were one of two Division 1 winners from the weekend’s draw.
WA’s other winning ticket was bought from newsXpress Silver Sands in Mandurah, but so far the winner has not come forward.
The syndicate said celebrations had started early following the news of their win on Saturday night.
Some of the members doubted the big win after misreading the numbers, but once the news was confirmed the excitement took over.
"I triple checked our original ticket and then immediately locked it in the safe once I had confirmed it was a winner.
“There have been a few sleepless nights before coming in this morning to verify the news but it’s all so exciting," said the syndicate organiser.
The group said they almost missed out on their big win when deciding between a 12 game and 18 game Slikpik ticket.
"I thought why not get a few extra games and increase our chances. Thank goodness I trusted my instinct because we won on line 13," she said.
On the Lotto wish list for the winners was paying off mortgages, holidays and sharing it with family members."For some of us the money has come at a really good time so it’s been nice to see how it will help one another," one member said.
