A yacht has sunk after being struck by a luxury cruiser this afternoon during preparations for the Mandurah Boat Show.
Show director Peter Woods said the multi-million-dollar yacht was being manoeuvred into position for next weekend's show when it hit the 7.6m yacht, causing it to sink.
"The whole thing lurched forward and it hit the jetty and hit the yacht, it was like a little pack of cards thing," he said.
A second 7.9m yacht was also damaged during the crash.
Mr Woods said the incident was the first time a boat has crashed and sunk during the show's 15-year history. The sunken yacht was privately owned and is expected to be recovered tomorrow.
