Police say they have recovered a Holden Rodeo which they believe was involved in a fatal collision at Waggrakine on Saturday night.
Investigators said a person of interest was helping them with inquiries.
Two pedestrians died after they were hit by a four-wheel-drive north of Geraldton on Saturday night.
Major crash investigators and Mid West–Gascoyne Traffic officers are seeking information regarding the crash in Waggrakine.
A police spokesman said that about 6.50pm a Holden Rodeo was being driven west along Chapman Valley Road when it collided with a man and a woman on the side of the road, near Wahn Avenue.
"The two pedestrians, a 40-year-old man from Rangeway and a 40-year-old woman from Spalding, died as a result of their injuries," the police spokesman said yesterday.
"Major Crash Investigators are travelling to the scene of the crash today, and are expected to arrive this afternoon."Anyone with information regarding this crash, or who saw the vehicle involved prior to the crash, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
