A man has admitted molesting children while taking them around the country as part of his work for a WA government department.
Roderick Alexander Finch, 54, today told Perth court he was pleading guilty to 22 sex offences, including crimes against children aged between 13 and 16 and having a relationship someone under his authority.
It is understood that Finch had been working for the government in the early 1990s when he committed some of the crimes and that he had been in a role that saw him take children on trips around the country, teaching them outdoor and work skills.
Today, Finch said he was sorry and ashamed as he left court.
His case was adjourned to November.
One of his victims attended the Perth Magistrate's Court and shed tears as Finch admitted his crimes.The victim said the admission was a huge relief.
