This Bunbury-born dual Australian Olympian, who nearly became a West Coast Eagle, is now a Melbourne Tiger after a basketball-playing stint in Serbia.
But tomorrow, Boomers star Mark Worthington will be nothing but a Fremantle Docker.
The long-time Dockers fanatic is so committed for the grand final, he was keen to take the challenge to show just how serious he is.
"It's been very, very frustrating at times and in some years you have definitely even questioned where the club was heading," Worthington said as he turned heads yesterday at the busy Docklands.
"A lot of us even had questions after coach Mark Harvey was let go, but it's been a masterstroke. Watching the boys play in the past two years has been very enjoyable.
"I just want them to achieve the ultimate because there's no greater feeling. I'll be screaming my lungs out and having a good day."
Worthington, who has played basketball in many underdog teams, believes the Dockers will look at favourites Hawthorn as a team with "human frailties"."Their mindset will be just trusting what they've done all year," he said.
