Months of speculation of who will play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the screen adaption of the bestselling erotica, Fifty Shades of Grey, have finally been put to rest.
Author E.L. James has today announced that the two stars who have been cast to play the leading couple are Sons of Anarchy heart-throb Charlie Hunnam and actress Dakota Johnson, who is best known for her role in the US sitcom, Ben and Kate.
British model Cara Delevingne, Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel and Games of Thrones beauty Emilia Clarke were among the rumoured contenders for the role of Steele, while Matt Bomer was also said to have been considered to play Grey.
Today's confirmation that Hunnam will step up to play the lustworthy businessman comes just weeks after producers shot down various reports that the British actor had been cast in the film.
The film will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti alongside James.
It will be released in Australia on July 31 next year.
