UPDATE 3pm: At least two men have been seriously injured in a head-on collision about 20km north of Geraldton this morning.
An off-duty police officer came across the crash scene on the Great Northern Highway about 8.30am.
Two utilities crashed and people were trapped in the wreckage.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews from Geraldton and Northampton were called to the scene and worked to free the vehicle's occupants.
Two regional ambulance crews were also sent to the scene.
One man was taken to Geraldton Hospital after being stabilised.
Another was flown to Royal Perth Hospital with suspected fractures.
The Great Northern Highway has reopened after police and emergency crews cleared the scene.
Meanwhile the RAC Rescue helicopter has been sent to a crash near the intersection of Gingin Brook Road and Indian Ocean Drive in Woodridge.
The crash happened about 8.15am when the car left the road. One man sustained rib and leg injuries and a woman chest injuries. They remained in Royal Perth Hospital this afternoon in a stable condition.
