Runaway shopping trolley kills woman
A shocking video has emerged of a woman being killed by a runaway supermarket trolley in China.
According to London's Daily Mail, the accident happened last week at Lianhua supermarket in Shanghai.
The 60-year-old grandmother was hit from behind by the metal trolley, which contained about 15 cartons of soft drink.
The CCTV footage shows the woman pushing her own trolley down a flat escalator. When she reaches the bottom she pushes it away and walks on.
But seconds later a fully-laden trolley can be seen speeding down the escalator behind her.
The Daily Mail report says she glances at the trolley just seconds before it strikes and throws her against a pillar six metres away, killing her instantly.
Other shoppers can been seen running down the escalator to help the woman.
People pull debris off the woman but quickly realise she has succumbed to her horrific injuries.
