No arms, no fingerprints, no entry
A Kazakh artist who was born without arms claims he cannot get permission to enter Britain because he could not give fingerprints.
The BBC reports that Karipbek Kuyukov, 44, had planned to go to an anti-nuclear conference in Edinburgh last month but a letter FROM the British Consulate in Istanbul said his "biometrics were of poor quality".
He was asked to resubmit his application.
But the BBC quotes the UK Home Office as saying Kuyukov's visa was not denied and that the letter may have been the result of a "miscommunication".
Kuyukov, who was born in the region of Semipalatinsk, the former Soviet Union's main nuclear testing ground, told the British broadcaster he was disappointed.
Many thousands of children were born with disabilities during the nuclear test program, a problem highlights with his art.
