Biker injured in crash in front of cops

A 22-year-old motorcyclist has been seriously injured after crashing while police attempted to pull him over last night.

At about 11pm, police in Oakford were travelling on Anketell Road when they turned on their lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the motorcycle.

Police said the rider accelerated past other vehicles quickly and collided with a vehicle travelling in the same direction just west of the Thomas Road intersection.

The rider suffered serious injuries.

Police are investigating the incident and have asked people who were on the road at the time or who witnessed the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
