Fremantle cheer squad leader R.J. Walsh does not have to look too far back to find her favourite derby memory.

It came last time the teams met - in August last year when Dockers captain Matthew Pavlich starred with an eight-goal haul in a 65-point win.

"The second half of last year was a fantastic end to the season and topped off by our derby win - and we rubbed it in," Ms Walsh said.

"What can be better than Pav's individual score (50 points) being greater than the whole of the West Coast score (48)? It was fantastic. I'm a big Pav fan, I think he's a great leader.

"It's our home game, it's the beginning of the season and there's great expectation for the Dockers. Winning the derby is bragging rights - in a town of two teams it's nearly everything. It's a great moment."
