Two injured in West Swan explosion

Two people have been injured in an explosion in shed in West Swan.

A resident near Victoria and Tomlin roads called for help after hearing a bang and noticing billowing, black smoke and flames coming from a neighbour’s property.

A m 40-year-old an and a 31-year-old woman are being treated for burns received in the explosion.

Police say the woman suffered burns to her legs and the man was being treated for burns to his arms.

A neighbour said: "The shirtless man was bleeding from burns on his arms, he's very lucky".

The couple were treated by ambulance officers at the scene.

The man has been transferred to Royal Perth Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.

The blaze in the tin shed at the rear of the property destroyed the structures interior.

Organised crime squad are on their way to the scene to investigate the cause of the explosion.
