Woman charged over knife holdup

A 30-year-old Alfred Cove woman allegedly held-up a North Fremantle pharmacy and stole a prescription drug yesterday.

A police spokesman said the woman stole drugs from the same pharmacy the day before.

Police said that about 8.30am on Sunday, the woman entered the store and gave the pharmacist a prescription for the medication.

When the pharmacist returned to say her prescription was not valid, the woman allegedly stole the drugs and ran.

Police say the woman returned just before 3pm yesterday and threatened staff with a knife, demanding more of the medication.

The pharmacist complied and the woman fled.

She was arrested yesterday and will appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court today on stealing and armed robbery charges.
