Stick with Burswood for stadium: poll

The State election victory of Colin Barnett’s Liberal Party will please the many WA footy fans who want the new stadium built at Burswood.

Barnett has pledged to build the new $1 billion, 60,000-seater venue at Burswood by 2018. That was in contrast to the Labor Party vow to stay at Subiaco.

More than 3500 people voted in our poll, with 53 per cent (1862) saying Burswood was their preferred site, while 28 per cent (1013) backed Mark McGowan’s “stay at Subi” call.

Poll result

- Burswood (1862) 53 per cent
- Subiaco (1013) 28 per cent
- Cockburn (299) 8 per cent
- East Perth (247) 7 per cent
- Joondalup (134) 4 per cent
