Hunt for uni village attacker

Police are searching for a man who attacked a 19-year-old woman at the Murdoch University Village on Sunday.

About 4.30pm, the woman had returned from a weekend away and was pushing a shopping trolley filled with her belongings when she noticed a man walking towards her.

They passed each other and when the woman arrived at her unit the man was standing beside her.

The man and the woman greeted each other then man’s demeanor changed and he lunged at the woman.

The man assaulted the woman, she fell to the ground and the man ran off.

The man is described as aged in his 30s, fat, 170cm to 180cm tall with short dark curly hair and dark skin.

He was unshaven and was wearing a khaki T-shirt with a red pattern and dark shorts.

Anyone who witnessed the attack or can identify the man is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
