Two men aged in their 40s have been charged after police allegedly uncovered a clandestine drug laboratory at a home in Yangebup yesterday.

Police allegedly found items used to manufacture methylamphetamine after they were tipped off that a strong smell was coming from the Guidice Way unit and executed a search warrant.

A neighbour said police raided the Homeswest property about 5.15pm.

He said officers arriving in unmarked cars and wearing bulletproof jackets entered the house and emerged with two men in handcuffs.

A 44-year-old man who lived at the house has been charged with manufacturing a prohibited drug and possession of a prohibited drug.

A 41-year-old Yangebup man has been charged with manufacturing a prohibited drug.

Both are due to appear in Fremantle Magistrate’s Court today.
