A 17-year-old boy has been charged after he allegedly robbed a Dianella petrol station and was tracked down by the police dog squad last night.

Police claim the boy threatened a staff member at a service station on Walter Road West just after midnight and stole cigarettes and bottles of soft drink before running away.

He was last seen on Walter Road near Birkett Street and was tracked by police dog Freddie who allegedly found the teenager hiding behind a bush down the driveway of a home.

The boy has been charged with robbery and is due to appear in Perth Children’s Court today.
