A 21-year-old man was arrested after allegedly going on a fake road rage rampage with three friends in Perth's southern suburbs yesterday.

Between 2pm and 5pm yesterday, police received reports of four men in a silver Ford Focus wreaking havoc in Coogee, Spearwood and Willagee.

Reports ranged from trespassing to one of the men threatening other motorists with a knife.

Police eventually caught up with the Ford Focus in Willagee, arresting the 21-year-old man and charging him with possessing a controlled weapon.

Sergeant Gerry Cassidy said mobile phones were seized containing footage of the group's activities.

He said police were still speaking to the other three men.

The incident comes days after five men were charged over a fake kidnapping in Leederville, which they posted on YouTube.

The men were charged with creating a false belief and are due to appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, March 5.
