The Eagles added the next two goals through Ashton Hams and Jack Darling before the match descended into a game of ping pong between the two halfback lines, with Darling eventually breaking the deadlock one minute before the halftime break.Geelong began the second stanza with two quick goals before the Eagles took control of the match with four straight, including a nine-point super goal to the prolific Bradd Dalziell.
LeCras had the crowd in raptures with a seamless set shot from the boundary marked his first goal since 2011.
But despite this being only a pre-season game, Geelong were not willing to lost.
Goals to Josh Walker and Varcoe dragged them back into the match before skipper Joel Selwood nailed a supergoal to steal the lead at the death.
