Police in Southern Cross have charged a 45-year-old man from Forrestfield after it’s alleged

he drove with a blood alcohol content almost five times the legal limit.

About 9.50pm last night, the man was driving a 13-tonne truck on Spica Street, Southern

Cross when police observed him allegedly contravening a stop sign.

Officers stopped the truck where the driver underwent a preliminary breath test, later

calculated back to 0.249.

The man was charged with driving under the influence and will appear in court at a later
date.
