Murder charge over stabbing attack

Police have charged a 29-year-old man with attempted murder over a serious assault on a woman in Innaloo early yesterday.

The 30-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted at a property on Oswald Street about 1.50am.

She was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds, one of which caused serious internal injuries, and bruising.

The Innaloo man, who is known to the victim, has been charged with attempted murder and deprivation of liberty.

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrate's Court today.

Police believe the accused walked from Innaloo to the Scarborough police station and may have dropped a knife along the way, in an area between Oswald Street, Innaloo Shopping Centre and Scarborough Beach Road.
