A 25-year-old Wembley woman had her baby two months early after she was injured in a car crash in Subiaco last night.
Police said the woman, who was seven months pregnant, was a passenger in a Toyota Yaris being driven by her 32-year-old husband when the two-car crash happened at the intersection of Bagot Road and Kings Park Road about 8.20pm.Emergency services crews freed the woman from her vehicle and she was taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital in an ambulance.
Police took her son and husband to the hospital.
The couple’s vehicle was travelling west on Kings Park Road when it collided with a Holden Astra, which was driving east on Bagot Road.
The 17-year-old driver of the Astra and its three passengers were not injured.Police said reports from the hospital suggested the child was delivered prematurely and appeared to be healthy.
