Premier Colin Barnett has refused to commit to leading the Liberal Party to the 2017 election, arguing it was not the time to discuss his long-term plans.
"I hope to win this election, I hope to continue as Premier and if I'm in that position as we lead up to the following election, that's the time to ask the question," Mr Barnett said yesterday.
He disputed that there was no one suitable to hand the leadership to but he would not name anyone within his ranks who could be leadership material."A whole lot of people within the Liberal party have got leadership capacity," he said.
He did not think anyone would challenge his position anyway.Sponsored links
