Boy killed by truck named

A boy who died after being hit by a truck in Ellenbrook yesterday has been named as Maxim Howard Ward.

The 13-year-old was crossing Gnangara Road with his 14-year-old sister when he lost one of his thongs. He was hit by a sand truck when he turned back to get the thong at about 12.45pm.

Police and the Major Crash unit are investigating the incident.

The truck driver was treated for shock and the parents were consoled at the scene yesterday.
