Fire crews are continuing to battle a blaze that is out of control new Newman.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services says there is no threat to lives or homes.
The fire, which is thought to have been started by lightning, is moving at a moderate pace in a northern direction away from the townsite but is neither contained nor controlled.
Winds have eased overnight.
The fire is burning on land leased by BHP Billiton.
It started about 4.30pm yesterday.
DFES has said people in the northern part of Newman in the Shire of East Pilbara should stay aware and keep up to date with the situation.
This also includes anyone travelling on or near the Great Northern Highway, about 10km north of Newman.
Some parts of the fire is burning in inaccessible terrain.Sponsored links
