Police drop bouncer punch charges

NATASHA BODDY, The West Australian January 7, 2013, 10:58 am

The man acquitted over a one punch attack on Luke Adams in Northbridge has been cleared of assaulting a bouncer during an earlier fracas.

Dylan Gerald Wayne Winter, 20, was acquitted in November of causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Adams, who suffered life-threatening head injuries in a fall outside a Northbridge nightclub in 2011.

Mr Winter was also charged with common assault after he allegedly punched a bouncer outside The Library nightclub before the incident involving Mr Adams but in the Perth Magistrate's Court this morning police dropped the charge.

Mr Winter was not required to attend court this morning where police prosecutor Paul McKee advised the court that police would be discontinuing the assault charge against him.
