Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has given France the perfect start to their Hopman Cup match against USA with a two-set demolition of John Isner at the Perth Arena tonight.
The unflappable Frenchman took the first game without dropping a point and that form continued through to the very end of the 6-3 6-2 victory.
Isner took to the court with strapping on his right knee and was clearly struggling to move around the court.
The 206cm American answered back to Tsonga’s challenge early in the second set but a number of unforced errors gave his opponent back the upper hand.
The tie continues.Sponsored links
