Collingwood player Marley Williams has been charged with assault after an incident at a nightclub in his home town of Albany.
Police say 19-year-old Williams was allegedly involved in an argument with a 29-year-old man about 1.30am today.
The other man was ejected from the venue and when Williams left he saw the man outside, police claim.
Williams is then alleged to have punched the man who was taken to Albany Regional Hospital with a broken jaw.
He was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in court on January 24.
Williams made his debut for the Magpies against Adelaide in round nine this year.
He was taken at No.35 in the 2012 rookie draft and went to Collingwood via North Albany and Claremont.
Collingwood issued a statement confirming reports that Williams had been charged.“As this is a police matter, the club will be making no further comment at this time,” the club said.
