Secret Harbour couple take Lotto win

A Secret Harbour couple discovered they were $387,971 richer when they checked a Lotto ticket from last Saturday’s draw this morning.

The woman, who is a regular Lotto player, told Lotterywest she only checked the ticket after finding an old one in her wallet.

While the old ticket did not deliver any good news, the second one turned out to be a Division 1 winner.

“My heart almost skipped a beat and I was feeling a mix of excitement and shock,” she said.

“The first thing I did was call my husband to tell him the great news but he thought I was being silly and just joking.”

The couple plan to spend their money on an early retirement, an overseas holiday for their parents and their children.

The winning ticket was sold at Secret News in Secret Harbour and is the first Division 1 ticket sold by the outlet.

More than 1.5 million Lotto tickets are expected to be sold for Saturday’s $30 million Megadraw.
