17-year-old charged with murder

Major Crime Squad detectives have charged a 17 year old boy with murder after the death of a 17 year old girl in a Northern Goldfields town.

Police allege that around noon on 9 December 2012, the girl receiving substantial injuries after being assaulted.

"Police located the girl deceased in bushland near the community a short time later," a police spokeswoman said.

"The 17 year old alleged offender is currently in Royal Perth Hospital after receiving injuries in an assault that occurred after the girl’s death. Inquiries are continuing into this matter."

The boy has been charged with murder.
