Two injured in motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist allegedly trying to evade police has been injured in a crash.

About 12.30am today officers in Padbury noticed a motorcycle heading north on Marmion Avenue, with no lights, no registration and the male rider and male pillion passenger were not wearing helmets.

Officers tried to stop the motorcycle but the rider attempted to turn down a side street where it will be alleged he lost control, hit the curb and came to rest on the median strip.

An ambulance officers treated both men for minor injuries.

A 24-year-old man from Thornlie will be charged by summons with a number of traffic offences including no authority to drive, driving an unlicensed vehicle, driving without lights and helmet, and failing to provide breath tests at the scene and the station.

He will appear in court later this month.
