Frustrating flyhalf Quade Cooper has reportedly walked away from rugby in Australia after receiving an incentive-only contract offer from the Australian Rugby Union.

Channel Nine is reporting Cooper has decided to quit both the Wallabies and the Queensland Reds, although the ARU say they haven't received any official notification from the troubled star.

His meagre offer from the game's national governing body comes just months after being fined $60,000 for several rants on the state of the game in Australia.

Cooper called the Wallabies camp a 'toxic environment' and said he couldn't bring himself to play for the side.
