Woman airlifted after power pole crash

Yolanda Zaw, The West Australian November 17, 2012, 2:40 pm

A woman has been airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital after her car ploughed into a power pole in Granville north of Gingin.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Gingin Brook Road and Brand Highway about 5.30am this morning.

The crash bought powerlines down which caused a small fire in a nearby paddock.

The woman, who was seriously injured, was trapped in the vehicle for some time before rescuers could free her.

She was airlifted by the RAC Rescue Helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
