Truck rollover closes highway

Police have blocked Great Northern Highway after an explosives truck crashed last night.

The truck, which was carrying ammonium nitrate, rolled over around 25km south of Meekatharra just after 9pm.

Police said the driver of the truck escaped uninjured, but the volatile cargo was left spread across the highway.

A dangerous goods response team was clearing the site of chemicals and debris early this morning.
