Vicious dog still hunted

The City of Stirling has warned against possible vigilante behaviour as the hunt continues for the rottweiler that attacked Balga grandmother Lynette Norman.

The 72-year-old's Jack Russell terrier Lady-day was killed despite Mrs Norman stopping the attack by biting the rottweiler's ear.

A council spokeswoman said the dog was still at large, with rangers taking eight calls over the incident.

Two callers said they would kill the rottweiler if they found it.

"We are hopeful innocent dogs and their owners are not victimised because they have a rottweiler-like dog," she said.
