It was an impressive Brownlow Medal debut for Nic Naitanui’s media shy girlfriend Elle Demasi, who looked at right at home on the red carpet in a flowing dress designed by Aurelio Costarella.
Stepping out in front of the flashing cameras, Ms Demasi admitted to being nervous and said preparations for the event had been stressful but it had all come together in the end.
Ms Demasi, who met the ruckman in 2009 and made their relationship public last year, told Channel Seven family friend Costarella had agreed to dress her for the event.
“He let me try a few dresses on and I love this one,” she said.
Naitanui said it was good to see familiar faces from other clubs but it was really “a night for the girls”.
“It’s good to see them all dressed up and having fun,” he said.
He said Brownlow preparations had been easier for him.
“It’s a pretty simple process for me, I just chuck my suit on, there’s not much you can do with this mop on my head,” Naitanui said.
Naitanui told Channel Seven he expected West Coast players Daniel Kerr and Dean Cox to poll well with Andrew Gaff a dark horse. The ruckman tipped Richmond player Trent Cotchin to take out the award while Ms Demasi picked Dean Cox as the winner.
