A 55-year-old man and his wife were assaulted after the man confronted a group of teenagers walking past his Banksia Grove property yesterday.
The man had been gardening outside his Viridian Drive home when he saw the teenagers pulling out pickets as they walked along the street about 4.30pm.
After he approached the group, one teenager punched and kicked the man, causing him to fall to the ground.
The victim's wife, 52, came outside to help him before she was also kicked by one of the offenders.
The pair suffered minor injuries and were taken to Joondalup Health Campus for treatment.
Police are calling for witnesses to the incident.
