A monument honouring late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott will be erected in his hometown in Scotland.
Born in Kirriemuir, the singer died aged 33 in 1980.
Community members have decided to salute him by commissioning sculptor John McKenna to design a statue in his honour. "It's early days but it's a great honour," McKenna told Britain's the Daily Record.
"Bon Scott was an icon from my teenage years."
AC/DC bassist Mark Evans said he was happy that his mate would finally get a proper tribute.
"It's so amazing that Bon is getting honoured like this," he said. "Bon already had a street named after him in Kirriemuir and now this."
Scott grew up in WA and is buried at Fremantle.He has a statue in his honour at Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle.
