A 63-year-old former country hostel supervisor has been charged with a child sex offence dating back several decades.
West Australian police said it would be alleged the offence occurred while the man and his wife were supervisors at the hostel in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
It is understood the offence occurred at St Andrew’s Hostel in Katanning, which was the focus of the recent Blaxell inquiry into historic child sex offences.
The man has been charged with one count of indecent treatment of a child under 14 years. He is to appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on October 4.
