A man who killed a mother of four in Geraldton has this afternoon been sentenced to a 10-year jail term.
Matthew Shane Dodd, 27, was sentenced by District Court Judge John Wisbey after being convicted of manslaughter.
Dodd assaulted Ms Pearce, whose first name is not used for cultural reasons, on December 18, 2010, but her body was not found until Christmas Day.
Ms Pearce's body was discovered in bushland near the back fence of the centre, in the northern Geraldton suburb of Spalding, at about 2pm on Christmas Day.Dodd’s sentence was backdated to December 4 last year and he will be eligible to be considered for parole after serving eight years.
