Organised crime squad detectives have charged three men, including a 72-year-old Balga man, after allegedly finding the men with large quantities of illicit drugs.
On Tuesday night the 72-year-old man was apprehended at Perth Airport after arriving on a flight from Sydney.
Police allegedly found two packages hidden in his trousers containing a total of 499 grams of methylamphetamine.
Three search warrants were also executed yesterday on properties in Alexander Heights, Balga and Girrawheen.
More than 300 grams of methylamphetamine, 500 grams of heroin, $25,000 cash as well as clip seal bags and scales were seized.
The 72-year-old Balga man has been charged with possess prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply.
A 48-year-old Alexander Heights man will face three charges of possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply and possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.
A 28-year-old Girrawheen man has been charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply and possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.All three will appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
