Trains cancelled on Fremantle line

STAFF REPORTER, The West Australian September 11, 2012, 8:24 am

Trains services have been cancelled between Perth and Claremont this morning after a death on the line east of Daglish station.

It is understood a person died after being hit by a train just before 8am.

It is not known how long services would be out.

A Transperth spokesman said replacement bus services had been arranged to operate from bus stops near all train stations between Perth station and Claremont station.

"Trains are running between Claremont and Fremantle ... however delays are inevitable," he said. "Passengers should allow extra traveling time and be aware that train replacement services may not connect with timetabled bus and train services.

"Transperth is working to rectify this disruption."
