WA's latest Division 1 winners said the news of their big win was still sinking in.
"It's a lot to take in and we are still getting to grips with it all," the man said, after claiming their top prize today.
The Doubleview couple, who picked up $855,079.21, were one of five national winners and the only Western Australians to collect a Division 1 prize in Saturday's Lotto draw.
The woman was on holiday with her family over the weekend, with her partner at home alone when he discovered their ticket was a winner.
"I'm signed up to the Lotto results emails but when I saw my numbers I couldn't believe it, so I checked the Lotterywest website too," he said.
"Being on my own, I just couldn't take it in, so I rang my partner to tell her the news - but she didn't believe it either.
"I just thought he was winding me up," his partner laughed.
The couple, in their 40s, said it was too soon to say exactly how they would use their winnings, but travel plans and helping their family out were at the top of their list.
"We'll probably get together with my parents to celebrate, but apart from that it will be pretty low-key," the man said.
His partner added: "This win will really take the pressure off. We may look at working part-time and just have a bit more time to enjoy life."
They bought their ticket at The Downs Chemmart Pharmacy in Wembley Downs and owner Henry Gulev was ecstatic to have sold his first Division 1 ticket since taking over the outlet in 2010.
"We rebuilt the whole premises after a fire burnt it down in 2008, and we've worked really hard to build the business up in that time," he said.
Mr Gulev said he'd had a good feeling that the store was due for a big win"This news is just fantastic and who knows - maybe a million dollar ticket is just around the corner," he said.
