Boy, 14, charged over Karawara stabbing

A 14-year-old Bentley boy has been charged over a stabbing attack which left a 21-year-old man with critical injuries.

A police spokesman said the victim was walking towards Kent Street in Karawara after leaving Curtin University about 11pm on September 5.

He was allegedly by the 14-year-old boy, who attempted to steal his bag. The victim resisted and was allegedly punched and stabbed in his arm and back.

The boy allegedly fled the scene with the stolen bag and laptop computer.

The victim staggered to nearby shops where he phoned for help.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition after surgery.

The 14-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and grievous bodily harm. He will appear in the Perth Children's Court today.
