Fire rages on at Madura Station

Fire fighters are battling a bushfire 20 kilometres west of Madura Station in the Shire of Dundas which has been burning for three days.

The fire is about two kilometres north of the Eyre Highway and was reported 7pm on Sunday.

The fire is contained and there is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area which may affect the highway.

Although there is no immediate danger residents are being advised to remain aware and to keep up to date, and avoid the area.

So far about 300 hectares have been burned. The cause of the blaze is unknown.
