Three males are in custody after a violent and unprovoked attack on a couple in Karratha on Monday night.
About 7.45pm on August 27 the local couple, aged in their 30s, were walking along Legendre Road in Nickol after having dinner when they were allegedly set upon by three males.
The couple both received blows to the head and body causing them to fall to the ground where they were also kicked.
The thieves got away with a set of car keys from the man’s pocket.
The man received four broken teeth, bruising and swelling to his face. His female partner received four stitches to the inside of her mouth and bruising and swelling to her head.
A short time later the three males fled from a Millars Well address after they allegedly stole bottles of alcohol from the resident’s fridge. After chasing the trio, a resident had several bottles thrown at him but escaped serious injury.
About 2am the next morning, police found the three alleged offenders at a house in Pegs Creek and took them to Karratha police station to be interviewed.
The three males were charged with aggravated robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, aggravated burglary, stealing, criminal damage and assault.
Two teenage boys appeared in Karratha Children’s Court on Tuesday and were remanded in custody and before being flown to Rangeview Remand Centre in Murdoch.A man was also appeared in Karratha Court remanded in custody and is being held at Roebourne Regional Prison.
