Update: 10.30am: A five-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after the car he was travelling in crashed into a tree in Burswood last night.
The boyâ€™s mother was driving the familyâ€™s Mazda sedan down Teague Street near Hampton Street when the car veered to the right of the road and collided with a tree.
The boy was in a booster seat in the rear of the car.
Police are investigating whether the booster seat snapped on impact.
The boy was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital with serious injuries, believed to be to his head.
The boyâ€™s mother was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with minor injuries.Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
